Our Process.
Initial Site Visit - by appointment
Every great design starts out with a conversation. Our first step is to meet you on-site to understand your vision, lifestyle, and what you hope to achieve. We will walk through the property, explore its potential, and talk through any site opportunities, challenges, or council requirements that may apply. This visit helps us get a true sense of the space and sets the foundation for a home that’s tailored to you. It’s also a great chance for you to ask questions and for us to offer early advice on what’s possible.
Stage 1 - Preliminary Design
The Preliminary Design stage is where we start bringing ideas to life. We develop early concepts, explore different layouts, and prepare simple sketches and floor plans based on your brief and the unique qualities of your site. This is a creative, collaborative process where we’ll present options, test ideas, and work closely with you to refine the design direction. Your feedback is essential, and we take the time to ensure you feel comfortable and excited about where the design is heading before moving forward.
Stage 2 - Development Approval (DA)
With the design now finalised, we then get everything ready for council submission. We prepare the architectural plans, reports, and any other supporting documents needed for the Development Application. We will also coordinate with any required consultants, such as engineers or arborists, and will handle all communication with council to help keep the process smooth and efficient. Our goal is to give your project the best chance of approval, while ensuring the design stays true to your original vision.
Stage 3 - Construction Certificate (CC)
After securing the Development Approval, we move into a more technical side of the project. The Construction Certificate stage may involve more detailed documentation and specifications required for final building approval and construction. This includes demonstrating compliance with building codes, structural details, and requires coordination with your builder and private certifier. We can help manage this process to ensure all approvals are in place and move the project toward construction.
Stage 4 - On-going Consultation
Our involvement with the project doesn’t necessarily end with council approval or issue of the construction certificate. We can continue to offer you support throughout the entire construction phase. We can provide advice, answer design-related questions, and help resolve any issues that might arise on site. We can remain involved as much or as little as you like, and the goal is always to ensure the design is delivered as intended and help you navigate any complexities along the way.
